The c-tree Plus® Data Access Components, referred to here as c-treeVCL/CLX, allow users of Borland® Delphi™, C++Builder, and Kylix™ to use VCL™ or CLX™ data controls to access data stored on c‑tree Servers or in c‑tree Plus files.

With the release of Borland Delphi 3.0, developers were no longer limited to accessing data through the Borland Database Engine (BDE) or through ODBC to use the data controls or quick report components. New data-aware components made way for easier development of database applications using Borland IDEs.

Deriving from TDataSet, the virtual base class for all dataset components that represent data in a database, a set of data components that fully integrated with the rest of the VCL/CLX are available.

Note: c-treeVCL components are intended for V7.11 and later, and will not work with servers prior to that version.
